including ovarian follicular development and luteinization via altering anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) signalling, follicle-stimulating hormone sensitivity and progesterone production in human granulosa cells1. It also affects glucose homeostasis through manifold roles. The potential influences of vitamin D on glucose homeostasis include the presence of specific vitamin D receptor (VDR) in pancreatic β-cells and skeletal muscle, the expression of 1-α-hydroxylase enzyme which can catalyze the conversion of 25-hydroxy vitamin D [25(OH)D] to 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D, and the presence of a vitamin D response element in the human insulin gene promoter2.

Per-follicle measurements indicate that anti-müllerian hormone secretion is modulated by the extent of follicular development and luteinization and may reflect qualitatively the ovarian follicular status.
OBJECTIVE To investigate the possible influence of follicular maturation and luteinization on anti-müllerian hormone (AMH) secretion and the relationship between per-follicle AMH levels, ovarian follicular status, and responsiveness to controlled ovarian hyperstimulation (COH). DESIGN Prospective study. SETTING University hospital in France. PATIENT(S) Thirty seven in vitro fertilization/...
متن کاملA bolus of recombinant human follicle stimulating hormone at midcycle induces periovulatory events following multiple follicular development in macaques.
The efficacy of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) as an alternative to luteinizing hormone (LH)/human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) for the initiation of periovulatory events in primate follicles is unknown. A single bolus of 2500 IU recombinant (r)-hFSH was compared to 1000 IU r-HCG for its ability to promote oocyte nuclear maturation and fertilization, granulosa cell luteinization and corpus...
متن کاملO-20: The Combination of Basic Fibroblast Growth Factor and Follicular Stimulating Hormone Promotes Human Follicle Development In Vitro Culture
Background Fertility preservation is an important part of scientific study in the field of reproductive medicine. Ovarian cryopreservation and in vitro follicles culture provide option for fertility conservation in older women or cancer patients. Basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) or FGF-2, is member of fibroblast growth factors family which play critical roles in cell migration proliferatio...
متن کاملAnti-Müllerian hormone: clinical insights into a promising biomarker of ovarian follicular status.
In contrast to most hormonal biomarkers of the follicular status, anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) is exclusively produced by the granulosa cells of a wide range of follicles (primary to the early antral stages), presumably FSH-independently and with little susceptibility to disorders of antral follicle growth during the luteal-follicular transition. This paper summarizes the authors' clinical rese...
متن کاملEvaluation of Ovarian Reserve by Measurement of the Serum Levels of Anti-Mullerian Hormone and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone in Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Cycles
Background It is important to evaluate ovarian reserves prior to intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) treatment. The aim of this study is to determine the accuracy of anti-mullerian hormone (AMH) as a marker for ovarian reserve and to compare it with day-3 serum follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) levels. MaterialsAndMethods In this analytic, corss-sectional study, sequential sampling was don...
